Thyme Guard Now Available in California

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) is a pleasant smelling perennial shrub that grows in several regions around the world. Thyme oil has been used throughout history to fight some of the most aggressive bacteria, viruses, fungus and nematodes.

Andaman Ag is pleased to announce the availability of Thyme Guard in California, a 100% biodegradable broad spectrum contact and systemic liquid bactericide, fungicide, virucide and insecticide for use in all crops, turf and ornamentals. It controls diseases like botrytis, late blight, phytophthora and powdery mildew just to name a few and can be applied regularly.

Thyme Guard doesn’t leave toxic residue or by-products to contaminate the environment and has zero impact on the flavor of the fruit after application.

Thyme Guard can be used as a conventional pesticide, as thyme oil repels vertebrate pests by non-toxic mode of action. In addition, when tested against pests such as whitefly, at only 8 ppm concentration, it had 100% whitefly fatality measured after three days of application.

Thyme Guard has proven to be very beneficial on citrus, cucumbers, spinach, strawberries, grapes, tomatoes and melons. For example,  it inhibits the growth of common post harvest fungus disease and has been highly effective in reducing gray mold and soft rot incidence in strawberries. It’s shown to have a significant impact on increasing shelf life.
